Framboðs Jóhanns til stjórnar ECU

Ítarlega lýsingu á framboði Robert von Weizsäcker, Jóhanns Hjartarsonar og fleiri til stjórnar Evrópska skáksambandsins má finna á Chessbase.  Herferðin heitir bjartari framtíð (For a Brighter Future) en með þeim í framboði eru Nigel Short, Ivan Sokolov, og Yuri Kaplun frá Úkraínu.  Weizsäcker keppir við núverandi forseta, Boris Kutin frá Slóveníu, Tyrkjann Ali Nihat sem nýlega kom í heimsókn til Íslands til að kynna framboð sitt og hinn umdeilda Silvio Danilov frá Búlgaríu sem er helsti aðstoðarmaður Topalov.  Framboðið er það eina sem hefur lýst hefur beinum stuðningi við Karpov sem næsta forseta FIDE.

Weizsäcker er forseti þýska skáksambandsins og er sonur fyrrverandi forseta þýska lýðveldisins.

  We are the only team to support, and be supported by, the twelfth World Champion.

• We embrace necessary change, but we respect the game's traditions
  Uniquely among the ECU Presidential tickets our team possesses four Grandmasters. Not only do we know all the game inside-out, but we respect all those, whether amateur or professional, who love the game as we do. Ultimately our joint skills, expertise and commitment -"aggregate human capital" in the economic parlance - far outweigh that of our competitors.
